Instead of airstones these diffusers use a flexible membrane EPDM membrane to resist clogging and fouling. These are the recommended diffuser in ponds or lakes that have a high level of organics or nutrients.
Includes check valve to prevent water from filling air line when not in use. Polyethylene underlay keep diffusers from settling into the mud and prevents sediment erosion during operation
The EPDM membrane diffuser tubes require less maintenance compared to airstones and resist fouling better than airstones. Ideal for lakes and ponds or wastewater applications where a high organic load makes using traditional airstones problematic. Equipped with 1/2" barbed connector to fit your 1/2" or 5/8" airline. These diffusers lay flat upon the lake or pond bottom so disturbed sediments is minimized and diffuser tubes do not become fouled or covered in muck due to the underlay which keeps the diffusers out of the sediment.
Three Available Formats
2 Diffuser Manifold 2 x 6" EPDM membrane diffuser tubes. Underlay: 12" x 21" Airflow 0.8 - 3.4 CFM Equipped with 1/2" barbed connector to fit your 1/2" or 5/8" airline. These diffusers lay flat upon the lake or pond bottom so disturbed sediments is minimized and diffuser tubes do not become fouled or covered in muck due to the underlay which keeps the diffusers out of the sediment. . |
4 Diffuser Manifold 4 x 6" EPDM membrane diffuser tubes. Underlay: 21" x 21" Airflow 1.6 - 6.8 CFM Equipped with 1/2" barbed connector to fit your 1/2" or 5/8" airline. These weighted diffusers lay flat upon the lake or pond bottom so disturbed sediments is minimized and airstones do not become fouled or covered in muck due to the underlay which keeps the diffusers out of the sediment. |
6 Diffuser Manifold: 6 x 6" EPDM membrane diffuser tubes. Underlay: 21" x 21" Airflow 2.4 - 10.2 CFM Equipped with 1/2" barbed connector to fit your 1/2" or 5/8" airline. These weighted diffusers lay flat upon the lake or pond bottom so disturbed sediments is minimized and airstones do not become fouled or covered in muck due to the underlay which keeps the diffusers out of the sediment. |
These diffusers do not have the same efficiency as the airstone diffuser assemblies but they are ideal for the pond owner or manager who wants to install an aeration system that requires the least amount of maintenance possible. These diffuser assemblies require less PSI and so are perfect for linear air pumps in most ponds! Can also be used with rotary vane compressors or piston compressors for a simple and easy aeration system.
The flat base has holes for attaching mooring ropes if you wish to add a float to the diffuser for future retrieval or removal or re-placing of the diffuser. You can also tie a float a few inches below the surface so you don't have to see the float.
EPDM TUBE DIFFUSERS
EPDM is a synthetic rubber which is custom molded for this application. The compound formulation and molding technique are critical to ensure that the membrane maintains its physical properties over a long period of time, resists tearing, retains its shape even after years of continuous or cyclical use, and produces fine bubbles, all at a minimal head pressure.
While used primarily in ponds and lakes as an inexpensive air diffuser for pond aeration, these EPDM membranes are field tested in municipal and industrial applications with excellent results. Standard EPDM is not recommended in cases where solvents, fats oils or greases, or high concentrations of other foulants are present. membranes are field tested in municipal and industrial applications with excellent results.
